What’s your diet like? My diet is pretty loose. I eat healthy most of the time but I don’t deny myself the pleasures of a bar of chocolate or ice cream once in a while. I don’t restrict, I don’t follow a strict eating plan, I just try to make my meals and nutritious and creative as possible.
How many calories should I eat a day? That really depends on your BMR. You should normally be eating around your BMR even when trying to lose weight if you’re active throughout the day. Sharee explains the importance of BMR really well

Will cutting down calories make me lose weight? No it won’t. Your body needs at least the amount of calories your BMR says you require a day to work properly. If you eat less it will start going into what is called “starvation mode”, where it stores as much fat as it can to use as energy later. As soon as you eat more it will continue storing the fat due to your metabolism slowing down and not having eaten much in the days beforehand, and you’ll actually end up putting on more weight than you had lost.

What’s your workout schedule?
Uni routine: At the moment I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and do 30 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill, then I hit the weights. Depending on which part of the body I’m working I’ll do a different routine. Then I finish up with an ab routine.
Holiday routine: I focus more on doing things that I enjoy more. I don’t have a gym membership but I normally go horse riding nearly every day. I go for walks/runs and bike rides too. 2x a week I do lower body exercises and 2x a week I do upper body exercises. I try to do ab exercises every day but it’s the holidays and I get a bit lazier. I’ve lost all motivation! HELP!

What are some exercises to reduce fat on my “insert body part here*
You can’t spot reduce. What does this mean? This means that you cannot choose where your body loses fat from. Cardio burns general fat, but no specific exercise will make you lose fat from a specific part of your body. What certain exercises will do is tone the muscle (eg, lunges tone legs) and make them look leaner. So to lose fat and look leaner you need to combine cardio, strength exercises and healthy eating.
